This school year Faith Bible Church of Joliet adopted A.O. Marshall Elementary School as a missions field. The primary objective is to host an after-school Good News Club. Readers of Mike's "Hold the Rope" and Steve's "Prayer Updates" are familar with the challenges that this ministry venture has faced. Despite the challenges, the team from Faith Bible pressed on with the club. There is such an atmosphere of excitment regarding Faith's Good News Club.  The following article from Faith's Newsletter demonstates this excitment.

"Thank you...for all who prayed for Faith Bible Church's adoption of A.O. Marshall School's Good News Club. We had our initial meeting Tuesday, October 20th. ...Mike Fox, Rosetta Flowers, and Ruth Johnson, all experienced teachers, along with Pastor Bob DeKlavon, Pastor Jay Fernlund, John Troughton, Jr., Bob Conterez, Lisa Herron, and Retha Heinmade up our "team."

Since it was close to dismissal time, a lot was going on. The staff welcomed us graciously and expectantly. Promptly at 2:15, we were ushered into our room where Mike and Rosetta quickly set up for the activities to follow. Permission slips were noted and name tags made for the children. A good beginning with nine boys and girls the first club.

Club rules and the theme song were introduced. We shared in the reading of the Wordless Book. ...We practiced our memory Bible verse, John 1:12 "...to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God."...

We all rejoiced when one little boy asked for salvation from sin and to recieve Christ in his heart. Three Fifteen came all too quickly....Continue to pray for the children that many will come to Jesus. Pray for our "team" as we seek to serve Jesus through Good News Club."
